Brantley Gilbert is back with brand-new music. The singer has released his new album titled So Help Me God, and it will surely resonate with his legion of fans.
Gilbert is an artist steeped in southern rock and country music. His style is often electrified by the grit and toughness he likes to present. For anyone who gravitates towards music with a stomp, Gilbert never wavers. This new project follows his last full-length album Fire & Brimstone, released in 2019.
The title track seems to encompass the entire album. It possesses heart, truth, and has the ability to make the listener stop and think. The title track "So Help Me God" is about loving someone more than one loves a vice, in this case, the vice is drinking. Gilbert sings about realizing that if he continues down a bad road, he risks losing his partner: "So help me God, I'm gonna change / I'll pour this bottle down the drain / Send that devil's water to hell, where it belongs."
The LP includes tracks that feature some of country music's heavy hitters. "Heaven By Then" features Blake Shelton with harmonies by Vince Gill is one to impress. "If there comes a day this country's somewhere country don't fit in / Hell, I hope I'm in Heaven by then." "Rolex On A Redneck" sees Gilbert singing with Jason Aldean for the very first time. The two have been longtime friends and have worked together in the past. "The Worst Country song Of All Time" with Toby Keith and HARDY is a humorous stand-out that was previously released.

"Miles Of Memories" take a nostalgic direction. Here, Gilbert sings of the fond memories he has for where he came from with lines like, "That highway sign with the state-champ years / A broke down store, live bait, cold beer." It's the type of messaging that is adored in country music. "How To Talk To Girls" also evokes the same, mid-tempo beat. He looks back on his journey on how he got his wife to fall in love with him. The song carries more depth than his other, more party-ready tracks.
The artist inside Gilbert seems to have pushed him to new heights. Each song on this project looks to show the varying sides of this Georgia native. A singer like Gilbert has proved time and time again he knows what his fans crave. This new record is no different.
