Brett Young “Not Yet” Review + EP Details
Brett Young released “Not Yet” as the follow-up to his 7 No. 1 singles and announced that he will be dropping a new EP, Weekends Look a Little Different These Days, on June 4th.
“Not Yet” is written by Young, Kelly Archer, and Justin Ebach and produced by Dann Huff and Jimmy Harnen. Huff and Harnen are the same duo that produced Young’s 2018 album Ticket To L.A.. Based on this release, it seems like Young is going to double down on the sound that his fans know and love from him. The song is up-tempo and light-hearted and has the potential to be a timeless radio hit for fans who love a fun and flirty tune.
Young also shared that he will be releasing a new collection of 8 songs on June 4th titled Weekends Look A Little Different These Days. It’s notable that Young is a co-writer on each track. Based on the album and song titles, we can expect the EP to touch on how Young’s life has been changed and shaped by fatherhood. Since his last record, Young has turned 40 years old and welcomed a baby girl, Presley Elizabeth Young, and has a second baby girl on the way.
When asked if he was looking forward to the release he said… “It’s hard to describe just how ready I am to finally get to share this new project with everyone (…) With so many special moments over the last year and a half and creative jolts translating to writing so many different songs, it was important for me to pick the right ones to reflect where I am now. I’m grateful and can’t wait to share everything we have planned!”
Well… we can’t wait either!
