Chris Lane ‘Fill Them Boots Tour’ Review

After kicking off night 1 of the Fill Them Boots tour in Boston, Chris Lane brought a top-notch show to Huntington, New York at The Paramount with rising artists ERNEST and Lily Rose.

The show started with Lily Rose who owned every second she was on the stage. Lily introduced herself by walking out to the currently viral “Broadway Girls” by Lil Durk and Morgan Wallen with a drink in her hand. She immediately dove into the popular tracks from her most recent EP Stronger Than I Am while the crowd soaked in every minute of live music. The highlight of her set was undoubtedly her vocals, which sound even smoother live, and the camaraderie between her and her band which was natural and fun; their energy was infectious.

Next up was rising singer-songwriter ERNEST. ERNEST introduced himself with his feel-good anthem “Cheers,” which set the tone for the remainder of his set. Even in his mid-tempo and slower songs, ERNEST couldn’t help but to smile and sway with the crowd. His sound is a blend of country, pop, and R&B, which went over well with the eclectic New York audience. In the second half of his set, he introduced himself as a songwriter behind some of our favorite hits, as he sang Morgan Wallen’s “Wasted On You,” “Somebody’s Problem,” and “More Than My Hometown.” He ended his setlist with “Flower Shops” which was undeniably everyone’s favorite.

Main act Chris Lane hit the stage singing his 2016 hit “Fix” which immediately brought a new level of energy to the packed room. Our personal favorite part of his set was when he covered Mario’s “Let Me Love You.” Mid-set, he brought both his openers, ERNEST and Lily Rose, back out on the stage and thanked them for joining him on tour. ERNEST helped sing his hit “Big, Big Plans” (which he co-wrote), and Lily pumped everyone up with the ’90s country classic, “Friends In Low Places.” Lane showcased the intimate details of his life by helping bring his personal song, “Ain’t Even Met You Yet” to life with a video montage of his son Dutton in the back of his acoustic set and of course, sent the New York audience home with his massive hit “I Don’t Know About You.”
