Chris Lane “Howdy” Song Review

Chris Lane welcomes the new year and frankly a new sound for the early months of 2022. Out now, Friday, February 11th, 2022 Lane’s new song, “Howdy” hits all streaming platforms. Written by John Byron, Sam Ellis, and Blake Pendergrass their lyrics are relatable for this time of year with Valentine’s Day approaching fast. The message that Lane conveys is a light and easy listen going into the weekend with his play on words like “Howdy / into how you doin’ / into how bout me and you do-si-do around this room.”

This song follows Lane’s most recent release in December 2021, “Stop Coming Over.” This new song “Howdy”, more upbeat than the guitar-filled December release, would make a great two-step song at the local bar. Throughout the track, Lane projects the other guy’s craziness of letting this girl go with the lyrics, “How’d he ever let you go? / How’d he ever walk away?”

Just like anything in 2022 resilience comes from within and from innovation and Lane has shown that throughout his releases in the pandemic. On Instagram, he posted Thursday, February 10, 2022, a video sneak of the song’s release with the videography playing in new love’s favor. Just in time for Valentine’s Day, “Howdy ” sparks curiosity and mystery of new flames for the lovey holiday.
