Chris Lane Talks Fatherhood and New Music
Chris Lane seems to always be keeping busy. Whether he is releasing new music or touring around the country, the singer steps forward with a great sense of self. While performing at Country Jam USA in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Lane sat down with The Nash News to discuss upcoming projects, and how he finds a balance between fatherhood and music.
When talking about how becoming a dad has changed him, Lane shared, "It's definitely made me a better man 100%. I will say, everybody said it would be exhausting; I think I underestimated how exhausting it would be." Lane and his wife Lauren have a son who recently turned one, and now have a second child on the way. He went on to say, "The Kenny Chesney song is true. Don't blink."
The North Carolina native recently released a song with Lauren Alaina titled "Dancin' In The Moonlight." Many will recognize the song as it is inspired by the classic track of the same name. "The song was pitched to me by a friend of mine, Jesse Frazure and Brett Tyler, who are both writers on the song. They threw it over my way and I thought, 'Man this is a cool re-write of a 1972 hit by King Harvest.' So really they just borrowed the dancin' in the moonlight part, but the song is all re-written," said Lane. The "country-fied" version wouldn't be complete without Alaina. "She can see the doggone phonebook and it's gonna sound good," Lane exclaimed about his collaboration partner.
As for what is coming next from Lane, he shared that he has been recording for a while. "I'm in the studio and writing as much as possible. I don't have any release dates, but I have a few more cool collabs I'm currently working on right now," he stated. He was careful to not say too much about what he has in store, but from what he could say, fans won't be left disappointed.
