Chris Young “Rescue Me” Song Review
Hitmaker Chris Young released his new song “Rescue Me” on Friday, June 11. The song will be featured on his highly anticipated upcoming album Famous Friends. The album will be available on August 6 and features Kane Brown, Mitchell Tenpenny, and Lauren Alaina. This Grand Ole Opry member had a lot to celebrate over the weekend as it was also his birthday on Saturday.
“Rescue Me” follows previous releases “Raised on Country,” “Drowning,” and current radio hit “Famous Friends” feat. Kane Brown. The mid-tempo track is another example of Young showing off his more vulnerable side.
Young sings from the perspective of being so in love he feels helpless. Instead of the girl needing rescuing, he’s the one needing to be rescued. “Always thought love was a villain baby, but ever since you came around it’s different, those kisses are leaving me defenseless.”
As the song continues, the storyline leads to a possible engagement. “But tell me who is gonna rescue me? ‘Cause, it sure feels like kryptonite how you got me on one knee.” The emotions of fear and nervousness can be very relatable for anyone listening.
Written by Young, Josh Hoge, Mark Holman, Matthew McGinn, and Christian Davis Stalnecker, “Rescue Me” is sure to keep fans excited for the upcoming album.
