Dailey & Vincent 'Let's Sing Some Country!' Album Review

Dailey & Vincent have officially released their highly-anticipated country album Let’s Sing Some Country! They’ve been long celebrated for their work in Bluegrass, and look to bring their roots over to country music.

While they have been performing “I’ll Leave My Heart In Tennessee” for quite some time, Dailey & Vincent recently recorded and released this song in July of this year as a precursor to the album. The leading single was also named an official state song by the Tennessee Governor, Bill Lee. Let’s Sing Some Country! was recorded with legendary producer, Paul Worley. They describe this experience as “an education and unforgettable experience,” in a press release.

This album feels like an ode to the different, and sometimes difficult, phases of life. The soulfulness Dailey & Vincent do so well is carried throughout the whole album, with impeccable layering of instrumentals and vocals. Starting with the love song to Tennessee, it moves to “Colder Than Winter," in which the strings at the beginning of the song instantly feel nostalgic and tells the sad story of missing a loved one who doesn’t return the same feelings. Bold and haunting, the stories told throughout this album are relatable, no matter what part of life you are in.

“A Little Deeper In The Well” is upbeat and gives the perspective of digging deep and working hard for what you want. “Feels Like That” is also an easy-listening song that is sure to get you moving to the beat, talking about the magical feelings of Christmas, your first kiss, and all of the lighthearted and fond memories we can all relate to.

Dailey & Vincent wrap this album up with a ballad to our demons, “If I Die A Drinkin.’” Starting with lines, “If I die a drinkin’, I won’t feel much pain, cause’ Lord we all got demons that drive us all insane” and ending with “If I die a prayin’, Lord I ain’t afraid to go."

This song is a powerful testimony to the difficulties of life and feels like a perfect way to conclude the record.

Let's Sing Some Country! is a powerful and traditional country album with a nod to Dailey & Vincent's roots placed in the Bluegrass genre. It’s hard to deny the talent of the duo and how effortlessly they can transition into a new lane.
