George Birge Self-Titled EP Review
Country star on the rise, George Birge, has been featured in NPR’s All Things Considered, People Magazine, American Songwriter, Billboard’s “Makin’ Tracks,” The Bobby Bones Show, and named one of Nashville Lifestyles’ “Artists You Need To Know.” Following the success of his TikTok viral track, “Beer Beer, Truck Truck,” Birge is introducing audiences to a wider range of his sound in his debut collection.
Before being publicly known as an artist, Birge became an established songwriter in Nashville obtaining cuts with Clay Walker, Colt Ford, and Sam Grow. Initially catching traction with his debut hit that went viral, “Beer Beer, Truck Truck,” Birge’s popularity has since skyrocketed. He has gained almost 200K followers and over 12.5 million worldwide audio and video streams. Thanks to his TikTok explosion, Birge was offered a deal with RECORDS Nashville which released his current single “Mind On You.”
The time has officially come for Birge to release his self-titled EP which dropped today Friday, February 18th. This is a collection of five tracks, four of which were co-written by Birge. Two of the songs on the project include his current single, “Mind On You,” and uber-popular “Beer Beer, Truck Truck.”
In a press release, Birge stated, “If I’m being honest, I’ve dreamed about making this project my whole life. Getting the opportunity to make the exact record I want to make, with the exact people I wanted to make it with, feels unbelievable. This project is me; I can’t wait to share it with the world.”
The three remaining tracks are pleasant slow grooves meshed with country-pop instrumentals. Each track brings something a little different with brilliant lyricism. “Reason To Go,” “Whiskey Side,” and “Didn’t Think I’d Miss” complete the project with mellow earworms that’ll leave the audience craving more from George Birge.
