Hannah Ellis “Home And A Hometown” Song Review
Just a few weeks before Hannah Ellis debuts at The Opry (September 28th, 2021), she’s releasing a brand new single, today, August 27th, 2021, titled “Home and a Hometown.”
Ellis makes her introduction with a bright and crisp feel that matches perfectly with her purely refreshing voice. This is the kind of song that will be heard pouring out the windows of passerby cars but also the kind of song that begs to be turned up when you’re all alone cleaning your apartment. Building a feel-good peaceful scene, everything that’s warm and familiar lives within the production walls of this song.
Ellis will sing you away to a daydream with this cheery track welcoming the warm reminisce of everything you used to love and everything you still do. When asked, Ellis made the inspiration for this song quite clear, “I was driving to my hometown, and realized that I always speed on that drive because I just can’t wait to be there. I then thought about the fact that I do the same thing when I am driving back home to Nashville because I just wanna be there, too. I realized that I love both places so much for different reasons and it occurred to me that I have a home AND a hometown. I came home to Nashville and wrote the song that week.” Her reasoning is clear when the lyrics of the chorus hit, “I got a highway and I got a backroad. I got fast pace life and place I go to move slow.”
