Jason Aldean “If I Didn’t Love You” Feat. Carrie Underwood Song Review

Jason Aldean is back with brand new music. The superstar released “If I Didn’t Love You” on Friday, July 23. After teasing who the featured collaborator was, fans soon discovered it was none other than Carrie Underwood. This song will be the lead single off of Aldean’s highly anticipated tenth studio album.

Aldean is certainly no stranger to releasing hit songs. Current chart-topper “Blame It On You” is the 25th number one song for the Georgia native. The ACM Artist of the Decade recipient also launches his Back in the Saddle Tour on August 5th in Virginia Beach, and this song is sure to get fans excited for the new music Aldean has to offer.

“If I Didn’t Love You” marks the first time Aldean and Underwood have released a duet together. Both are dominant forces in country music today. “We were pretty close to finishing up this album, but this song came in and we knew we had to record it,” said Aldean. As to how Underwood got on the song Aldean shared, “I went ahead and put my vocals down while we asked Carrie in the meantime. Luckily she loved the song and it was kind of like a rocket from there.”

This track is a classic break-up song with a message that resonates with every generation. “If I didn’t love you I’d be good by now,” sings Aldean and Underwood. The lyrics are all about wishing you didn’t love the person as much as you do, because then the heartache might be easier to deal with. “I wouldn’t still cry sometimes, wouldn’t have to fake a smile, play it off and tell a lie, when somebody asked how I’ve been.” It might only be a matter of time before this song earns both stars another #1.
