Jon Pardi “Last Night Lonely” Song Review
Award-winning country star Jon Pardi released his new single “Last Night Lonely” on February 17, 2022. This track is the first taste of his much anticipated upcoming studio album and starts another big year for the California native. Pardi has been extremely busy over the past couple of years as he promoted his Heartache Medication album, which spawned hit singles like “Ain’t Always the Cowboy,” “Tequila Little Time,” and the album’s title track.
“Last Night Lonely,” produced by Pardi, Bart Butler, and Ryan Gore, continues the sound of the traditional-leaning country that his fans crave from him. The track begins with a prominent fiddle intro and leads into an instrumental that will get listeners dancing instantly. The scaled-back production on the verses builds up to an anthemic and hard-hitting chorus which hits a climax with an energetic fiddle solo before the bridge. The song’s energy will surely translate into a standout moment at his live shows.
The writers, Joe Fox, Jimi Bell, and Dylan Marlowe painted a vibrant picture through the lyrics of this track. “Last Night Lonely” is a hopeful love song that describes the thrill of meeting someone new at the bar. Pardi imagines the possibilities of what could be as he sings “It could be your last night coming in here, drinking all by yourself/ The last time giving your heart away to someone else/ Yeah, we could be some history in the making girl, tonight/ Might be your last night lonely.”
This song sounds like another smash hit for Pardi as he solidifies his reputation as one of the more prominent traditional-leaning country singers in recent years. His year looks to be heating up with numerous festival and tour dates including performances at RodeoHouston, Patriotic Festival, and Carolina Country Music Festival. The California native will also be performing for three nights at Whitewater Amphitheater in Texas with fellow country singers Hailey Whitters, Lainey Wilson, and Tyler Booth.
