Kacey Musgraves to Perform at the 2021 VMAs
Country singer-songwriter and six-time GRAMMY Award winner Kacey Musgraves will make her MTV VMAs debut with a world premiere performance of her latest release, “star-crossed.” The new song acts as the title track for Musgraves’ highly-anticipated fourth studio album set to be released on Friday, September 10th.
The announcement comes shortly after it was revealed that Musgraves would be partnering with MTV Entertainment Group to screen her movie star-crossed: the film to international markets. The film will also be streaming on Paramount+ and is directed by Bardia Zeinali and shot by Matthew Libatique, an Academy Award-nominated cinematographer who’s worked on both A Star Is Born and Black Swan. The project will feature cameos from Eugene Levy, Princess Nokia, Victoria Pedretti, Symone, and Megan Stalter.
The 2021 MTV Video Music Awards will take place on Sunday, September 12th at the Barclays Center in New York City at 8 p.m. ET.
