Kelsea Ballerini Unreleased Track “What I Have”
She has ten gold and platinum singles and has taken off with over 2 billion streams currently. She has taken home two ACM Awards, and the iHeartRadio Music Award for “Best New Artist”. On top of that, she has gotten multiple nominations for GRAMMY and countless others. She has even been welcomed, with open arms, as the youngest member to the renown Grand Ole Opry. After obtaining the gold certification on both her debut and sophomore albums for her work with Black River Entertainment, Kelsea Ballerini, has inevitably become a household name.
When discussing her third album, NPR said, “Kelsea Ballerini is definitely one of the most influential women in country right now… she’s defining the sound of the genre.” This country queen is working on her newest album. She graced the stage of the Grand Ole Opry yet again and finished out her set with a teaser; A brand-new, unreleased song that left the audience hanging on every word.
Before performing the track, Ballerini explained how she just started working on her next record and because of the unprecendted times we’ve all lived through the past two years, she started to take a step back and appreciate the small things in her life that make her happy. “One of the theme’s that I’m finding is what I think probably a lot of us have found in the last couple of years as we’ve kind of been forced to step back and look at our lives and have a lot of time to do that, it’s made you kind of look at what you have differently.”
This unreleased song was performed in its rawest version with Ballerini’s sultry voice, twangy guitar, and harmonies. The track opens with luscious guitar picking giving your mind just enough time to settle into the slow groove before Ballerini’s vocals shine through. Every line of the song paired with the melody is powerful and relatable. “It don’t gotta shine to be gold / I got a roof over my head / I got a warm body in bed / I’m doing alright right where I’m at / With what I have.” Sure to be a hit once officially released, she continues to be a positive influence strumming the heartstrings of fans, reminding them to be show gratitude and be thankful for what they have.
The full song can be heard on the Circle All Access YouTube at the end of the broadcast. Click here to watch.
