Maddie & Tae prove yet again they are in a league of their own. The duo released their new EP titled Through The Madness: Vol. 2 as a follow-up to their previously released project Through The Madness: Vol. 1.
"Every Night, Every Morning" was the first taste of the project audiences got to enjoy. That song encapsulated everything people adore about the duo: thoughtful lyricism and perfect harmony. The track exudes what it feels like to be in love. "Every night and every morning / I fall over and over again, and you don't even know it." "Spring Cleaning" was also released ahead of the EP, which served sass and personality to help listeners get over any breakup.
Maddie & Tae have demonstrated a level of growth that artists can only hope to find. When they go to write, they manage to discuss emotions and thoughts that many people can't say themselves. "These Tears" is one of those examples. "These tears should've been cried long ago / All these years of hangin' on is getting old / So i'm lettin' go." Here, they sing about the importance of allowing yourself to feel the emotions when they first hit, rather than suppressing them. "Girl After My Own Heart" brings the rhythm to a song that touches on the seeds of jealousy that is relatable to all. Their perspective is one that many women feel when someone has eyes on what's theirs.
It wouldn't be a project from these two if there wasn't at least one song that aims to muster confidence in their fans. "More Than Maybe" is a song about realizing what someone deserves in a relationship. "Maybe you'll wake up someday / Maybe I'm out of time to waste, how many times can a girl's heart break? / There's one thing I'm sure about, baby, / I deserve more than a 'maybe.'"

One of the standouts on the LP, "Watching Love Leave," is an introspective look when the reality of a breakup sets in. Their voices always blend so well together, but this song allows for their vocals to really shine. they showcase the amount of control they have and how captivating it can sound. Breakups can ignite a variety of emotions in a person, and "Drinking To Remember" shows the vulnerable side with lyrics, "But a love like ours is too good to forget, so, I'm drinkin' to remember."
This record truly captures where they are at in their career. They have successfully found their groove in terms of sound and vision. Maddie & Tae strive to be the bearers of their generation, singing about what other young women didn't realize they needed to hear.
