Mae Estes is a rising talent that has plenty of tricks up her sleeve. Her new single, "Run" has been released in anticipation of her upcoming EP. Before The Record will be available on February 16th.
It was in rural Arkansas where Estes discovered her love of music. "I loved how connected I felt with the crowd. I felt a fullness like no other and have been chasing those small moments ever since. Music has always seemed to be where I feel bravest,” she shares on her website. A longtime fan of Lee Ann Womack and Keith Whitley, Estes finds a way to weave generations of country style into her own music. The singer-songwriter gives a dynamic look at what is up and coming in Nashville.
"Run" brings back the sound of old-school country music that is so beloved by the masses. Estes' voice sounds unique and soulful. It's easy to tell the heart and passion she sings all of her songs with, especially on this specific track. There is a steady tempo that picks up right where it needs to. This tune sounds as if it was made for Estes.

The headstrong, vivacious lyrics have Estes declaring she needs more from someone before she decides to leave. She sings from the perspective of someone who is used to running away when times get tough; someone who loves the freedom she has. She exclaims the vibrant lines, "Give me something to run to instead of from / Cause I'm made to run."
