Morgan Wallen Shares Unreleased Song “Thought You Should Know”
“I wrote this song for my mom a while ago, seemed like an appropriate time to share it,” Morgan Wallen said into the camera yesterday as he cradled his guitar. The singer then played a simple message to his mama, the story playing out like a voicemail he would leave on her answering machine.
After a tumultuous few months on hiatus, Wallen is slowly starting to return to the limelight. He showed up on Thursday night at Kid Rock’s Big Honky Tonk & Steakhouse in Nashville to perform a few songs from his double album Dangerous. He also shared an unreleased song with fans yesterday called “Thought You Should Know”.
“I thought you should know that all those prayers you thought you wasted on me, must have finally made their way on through, I thought you should know I got me a new girl down here in Jefferson City and she lets me fish whenever I want to…”
The track is sweet, showcasing not only Wallen’s talent for songwriting but also his pure, country sound. Although in a handwritten note to fans, he said he would not be touring this summer, stay tuned for news of upcoming shows or new music.
