Nate Smith “I Don’t Wanna Go To Heaven” Song Review

Rising Sony Music Nashville artist, Nate Smith, puts his entire heart into every piece of music he creates. With musical influences such as Elvis, Garth Brooks, Bob Seger, Tom Petty, and Fleetwood Mac, Smith has always had a soft spot for producing heartfelt songs with an honest performance style. Today, Friday, November 19th, the powerhouse vocalist released his highly-anticipated new song, “I Don’t Wanna Go To Heaven.

Earlier this year, Smith teased a clip of the track on TikTok and shortly after, it went viral. To date, “I Don’t Wanna Go To Heaven” has accumulated over 3.3 million total views, over 544k total likes, and over 45k total shares on TikTok. As those numbers continue to increase, so does the artist’s excitement for what he does. “I couldn’t be more excited for this song to come out. I feel like it will reach people in many different ways, and at the end of the day that’s all I really want,” said Smith.

Smith’s previously released songs, like “Raised Up,” “One of These Days,” and numerous others, brought rise to his prodigious fan base. The overwhelming feedback from fans inspired him to head on over to Music City and bring to life his dream of becoming a country music star. Not only is he successfully pursuing that dream, but also his dream of touching fans through his music.

“I Don’t Wanna Go To Heaven” is an emotive and sincere track, which is what the artist does best. His soft and calming voice, delivering such a powerful message, will captivate fans as soon as they hit play. The lyrical content expresses the emotions of one who is truly head over heels for their partner. Although heaven is made out to be such a breathtaking and inviting place, no place feels safer than right in the arms of the person you love.

“I don’t wanna go to heaven / When heaven’s right here lying next to me / I count every kiss and every blessing / As the only proof I’ll ever need / I don’t wanna go to heaven / When heaven’s right here laying next to me.”
