On the Verge: 3 New Country Releases

As every Friday passes, there are numerous songs that come out from independent country artists whose songs are well-written, beautiful, or simply fun. We’ve compiled a list of songs that were released last week by independent and rising acts that deserve much love and attention. Who knows, you might find your next favorite song.

1. Maggie Antone Interpretations

An EP of cover songs has never felt so original thanks to this release by Antone. Here, she covers an array of music that showcases the levels of her artistry. Antone sings covers that include Beyonce's "Daddy Lessons," Dolly Parton's "Jolene," and "Feathered Indians" by Tyler Childers. While keeping the original sounds in mind, she is able to harness her own kind of magic.

2. "Cowboy Song" by Drew Dixon

Dixon delivered a song that instantly takes fans back in time. Bringing to life a cowboy ballad, this track is also infused with the rock style. If a song could incorporate Elvis and Johnny Cash, this might be the one. Dixon belts out every line as if it were his last. This kind of passion is always a much-welcomed sound.

3. Kelsey Lamb "Too Much History (Acoustic)"

Just when this song couldn't feel more raw and real, the acoustic version does just that. Lamb sings about falling back into old ways when with an old flame. An acoustic rendition of this track allows for Lamb's vocals to captivate listeners. Her inflections when singing such honest lyrics only intensify the message.
