On The Verge: 4 More New Country Releases
As every Friday passes, there are numerous songs that come out from independent country artists whose songs are well-written, beautiful, or simply fun. We’ve compiled a list of songs that were released last week by independent and rising acts that deserve much love and attention. Who knows, you might find your next favorite song.
1. "For What It's Worth" by BRELAND ft. Alana Springsteen
Springsteen joined BRELAND on this remix of a song previously on his album CROSS COUNTRY. She adds a fresh, female perspective to the track. The song is about wishing the best for someone while no longer being together. It can sometimes prove to be tough to take the high road, but these singers make a compelling case for how rewarding it can be.
2. "Petty In The 80s" by Karley Scott Collins
Collins displays vocals that feel like superstar quality. The song has a rock flare that works to her sense of style. As the song references legend Tom Petty, it does feel like throwback in the best of ways. Collins sings about wanting to feel free to do what she wants. That message can also be applied to matters of the heart, as she aims to dance to the beat of her own drum.
3. Live From The Church by Charles Wesley Godwin
Godwin recorded this EP at The Church studio in Pittsburgh, PA. This collection of songs feature revamped versions of songs from his previous album, How The Mighty Fall. Godwin always presents the Appalachian style he was born with. These recordings emphasize the heart and soul of his music in an acoustic way. There truly is a song for everyone on this project.
4. "Don't Stay Gone Too Long" by Kylie Morgan
Morgan is an artist destined for big things. She always finds a way to share a piece of herself in every song she releases. This new release is no exception. Every line she sings could be relatable to so many. The track is about how bittersweet it can be to grow up. It can be hard to navigate changing relationships with loved ones, but Morgan makes a case for how touching it can really be.
