On The Verge: 5 More New Country Releases
As every Friday passes, there are numerous songs that come out from independent country artists whose songs are well-written, beautiful, or simply fun. We’ve compiled a list of songs that were released last week by independent and rising acts that deserve much love and attention. Who knows, you might find your next favorite song.
1. "Someone Else's Heartbreak" by Hannah Ellis
Ellis wears her heart on her sleeve with this new track. She gives a brutally honest look at true heartbreak. The lyrics are about knowing all the right steps to take and how moving on is for the best, but she can't seem to take her own advice. It is very relatable that people know when it's time to leave a relationship, but it's still hard to come to grips with. This is a ballad for every hurting heart out there.
2. "Ain't No Harmin' Me" by The War and Treaty
This is a duo who are bound for big things. This song in particular feels like an awakening. Their harmony echoes right into someone's soul. They find a way to incorporate southern and western styles of deeply rooted country sounds. Singing a message about inner strength, it's impossible not to feel how hauntingly good the song really is.
3. "Over The Radio" by Matt Stell
Stell has found a way to release yet another radio-friendly song. This song reveals a more vulnerable side to a singer who is never afraid to tell the truth. He calls out to a former flame that the radio is the only common place they would share. If they miss each other, that's the place their memories will remain. The track is slower in tempo which allows for his emotion to come through.
4. "Five Years" by Robyn Ottolini
Ottolini speaks to plenty of young women with her latest song. She sings about the uncertainty and spontaneous nature that life can bring. There isn't sadness or worry in her words, but rather more confidence. No matter where she will find herself, Ottolini owns up to not knowing what will happen next. It's a message that many will comfort in hearing from a song.
5. "Wrong Mr. Right" by Julie Williams
This is surely a song that will put Williams even further on the map. Williams lets her listeners know that it's okay to not choose someone who is perfect on paper. Someone can seem like the right choice, but true love should be there in order for it to work. There can be a real sense of guilt for letting someone down, but Williams is there to help her fans pick up the pieces.
