On The Verge: 5 New Country Releases
As every Friday passes, there are numerous songs that come out from independent country artists whose songs are well-written, beautiful, or simply fun. We’ve compiled a list of songs that were released last week by independent and rising acts that deserve much love and attention. Who knows, you might find your next favorite song.
1. "Why'd We Break Up Again" by Dylan Marlowe
This song has been teased on Marlowe's social media for quite some time, so fans can finally jam out to it. Marlowe sings about the back and forth between two people who can't shake off their feelings for one another. Marlowe is on a hot streak with having co-written the No.1 song in country music this week with "Last Night Lonely" by Jon Pardi. The sky is the limit for this on-the-verge artist.
2. "John Denver" by Sarah Allison Turner
Turner delivered an acoustic track that will tug at anyone's heartstrings. The singer-songwriter was inspired by her West Virginia roots and the iconic song "Country Roads" by John Denver. Turner sings about the longing of wanting to be back home, and her voice takes the song to a beautiful height.
3. Highway 99 by Alexander Ludwig
Ludwig stuns with the release of his debut album. The actor and singer proves the work he has been putting into this record is long worth the wait. Each song showcases a different side to Ludwig, all while his deepened voice sounds like a trip back home.
4. What I Get For Loving You by Seaforth
The Australian duo released their new EP in signature fashion. Their style of pop-country can be felt through each track. The singer's put their hearts on their sleeves while findings ways to connect with their fans. They manage to bring the energy and good vibes that many have to expect.
5. "Complicated" cover by Parker Graye
Graye released her "sad girl country version" of a classic 2000s hit. "Complicated" launched Avril Lavigne into her career, and Graye put her own spin on it. It's clear by the emotion Graye sings with that she believes every line. The acoustic edition makes the song feel revitalized for a new audience to appreciate.
