On The Verge: 5 New Country Releases

As every Friday passes, there are numerous songs that come out from independent country artists whose songs are well-written, beautiful, or simply fun. We’ve compiled a list of songs that were released last week by independent and rising acts that deserve much love and attention. Who knows, you might find your next favorite song.

1. "American Dirt" by Neon Union

“American Dirt” marks the kick-off release of the duo's upcoming EP titled, Double Wide Castle Sessions, available July 21st. This song exudes patriotism, but not in a flashing way. The lyrics sung represent what it's like to be a hardworking, down-to-Earth American. The duo possess a simple style that speaks volumes.

2. "Heart On Fire In Mexico" by Abby Anderson

Anderson evokes a haunting and magical quality on this new song. The track has fiery undertones just as the title suggests. It stays true to its more instrumental and acoustic feel while continuing to leave the listener wanting more. Anderson's voice also feels as understatedly powerful as ever.

3. "Red Flags" by Josh Ross

This is a song that says what so many people might be too afraid to say. Ross sings about wanting to look past how toxic a relationship is. He sees that his partner isn't the only one with red flags, but he doesn't mind. There is passion and honesty within this track, making it hard one to pass up.

4. "God Only Knows" by Halle Kearns

Kearns never fails to speak to the hearts of her fans. This particular song shows off her soft and alluring vocals. Kearns sings about longing for a one true love. She is leaving her journey in God's hands, which is something many can probably relate to. There can be real happiness found when it's least expected.

5. Miles And Maybes by Casi Joy

Joy has released an album full of feel-good and introspective songs. It feels as if there is something for any mood. The singer's voice is as captivating as her lyrics. This record carries pop, country, and folk styles that enhance her sound. Songs like "Under The hood" and "Partners In Time" offer a laid back style that would make for perfect listens any time of the day.
