On The Verge: 5 New Country Releases
As every Friday passes, there are numerous songs that come out from independent country artists whose songs are well-written, beautiful, or simply fun. We’ve compiled a list of songs that were released last week by independent and rising acts that deserve much love and attention. Who knows, you might find your next favorite song.
1. "If Jesus Were A Cowboy" by Logan Crosby
This track is slow and reflective, which has a timeless quality. Crosby showcases his vocal range as he sings directly from the heart. The singer suggests what Jesus' life would be like if he were a fearless, heartbroken cowboy. This perspective is entirely country, and Crosby takes the song to an elevated level.
2. "Vegas" by Erin Kinsey
This release has a stomping beat that grabs attention as soon as you hit play. Kinsey delivers a mid-tempo song about the energy one must have to go to Vegas to get married. All of the iconic Vegas wedding references are mentioned, including Elvis. Her voice feels authentic and suits the message of the song.
3. "Whole 'Nother Margarita" by Julia Cole
Cole releases a sizzling song during the peak of summer. It is important to find music that provides a sense of escapism, and this track is exactly that. Cole sings about knowing that sometimes it's better to forget the troubles of love and enjoy life instead. This song is a great addition to Cole's roster of music.
4. "On A Different Night" by Josh Ross
This new release from Ross has the type of tracking that resembles the rock-country that many love to hear. The song is about the woes of a relationship coming to an end and finding it hard to accept the new reality. The vulnerable lyrics sound convincing coming from Ross.
5. "Wild As Her" Remix by Corey Kent feat. Carter Faith
While the original song by Corey Kent is climbing the charts and being adored by fans, the singer released the duet version with fellow rising star Carter Faith. Kent said in an Instagram post that this was a one-take recording with Faith. This acoustic version of an eye-catching song is sure to also become a favorite among listeners.
