On The Verge: 6 New Country Releases
As every Friday passes, there are numerous songs that come out from independent country artists whose songs are well-written, beautiful, or simply fun. We’ve compiled a list of songs that were released last week by independent and rising acts that deserve much love and attention. Who knows, you might find your next favorite song.
1. "Tears The Size Of Texas" by Ben Burgess
Burgess has long been a staple in Nashville, so it's about time he released a single of his own. He is the writer behind Morgan Wallen's "Whiskey Glasses" and HARDY's "Signed, Sober You." This debut song is a dynamic entrance for Burgess as an artist. It's heart-wrenching and speaks right to the heart of every listener.
2. "Country Music" by Jordana Bryant
This song is a fiery release from the young singer-songwriter. Bryant sings about how things would've worked out with someone if they had simply liked country music. This track is sassy and fun, which compliments her style perfectly.
3. Better Off by Love and Theft
This duo is back with a brand new EP. They emerged onto the scene with the smash hit "Angel Eyes" and are continuing to wow with their harmony. The singers where their hearts on their sleeves with every track on the project. Better Off is melodic and timeless and is well worth the wait.
4. "More Like Home" by Garrett Hedlund
Hedlund is an actor as well as a musician. He starred alongside Tim McGraw and Gwenyth Paltrow in the film Country Strong. He also sang several songs on the soundtrack as his character was an aspiring country singer. This new release feels like a drive down a favorite back road. Hedlund's voice is as comforting as the classic country singers of the past while being able to chart new territory.
5. "Savior" by Brooke Moriber
Moriber delivers a sweet and reflective track. Her soulful voice pairs beautifully with the message of this song. The idea of being someone's savior can be a daunting task. Moriber sings about being there for someone in any time of need, which is seen as a far cry from what is currently out on radio.
6. "Nothing But Love Songs" by Randy Rogers Band
The band delivered a rocking new song ahead of their October 14th album. Fans have missed hearing from the group, and this song was worth the wait. Their harmonies reign over the honest lyrics about the longing and losing of someone.
