Roman Alexander "Bourbon Street" Song Review

People may know Country artist Roman Alexander from his debut single, “Cocktail Conversations," which was featured on The Today Show in January of 2021. His latest single, “Bourbon Street," released March 25th, 2023, is Alexander’s best work yet. His prior hit “Between You and Me” which got a re-release with fellow rising star Ashley Cooke, put the Kansas native on the map. Alexander now has over 1.2 million likes on TikTok, and over 260k followers on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.

“Bourbon Street” is a clever take on the process of finding love in a hopeless place. Alexander pushes against the classic trope of buying someone a drink at the bar and falling in love. Instead, “Bourbon Street” tells the story of a romance beyond the bounds of traditional ‘pick-up’ routines. He exclaims detailed lyricism with lines, “Just talking to you / I could go on like this for miles / Cobblestone cold sober / Getting high on getting closer / Didn’t need whiskey for you and me / To have the wildest night on Bourbon Street.”

Roman's new release is an exceptionally well-told, descriptive love story. The track is a refreshing take on a classic country theme. Not only does Alexander have the writing chops to make any story great, but he also has the vocal ability to back it up. “Bourbon Street” is a fresh new look on a timeless story and a gift to country music listeners.
