Songs I Grew Up On with Chase Wright

Country singer-songwriter Chase Wright first picked up a guitar while he was pursuing an economics degree at DePauw University. The Indiana native left for Nashville after graduating and later on, released his debut record INTERTWINED in 2021. His 2022 single "Hurt No More" has over five million streams on Spotify and the rising artist has almost half a million followers on TikTok. Wright sat down to tell us what five songs have inspired him the most on his musical journey.

"Iris" by The Goo Goo Dolls

This '90s classic was something Wright grew up listening to and influences the music he makes today.

"Kryptonite" by 3 Doors Down

"3 Doors Down is probably the band I listened to the most growing up," Wright shares. He recalls listening to the rock band on his Mp3 player as a kid.

"U Got It Bad" by Usher

Describing it as an "unconventional" pick, Wright notes that this track is still his go-to karaoke song.

"Stupid Boy" by Keith Urban

"I have such fond memories of this song in particular," Wright says before sharing that he vividly remembers watching a video of Urban performing this song with his dad.

"Somebody Like You" by Keith Urban

Another Urban tune to make his list, Wright exclaims, "Keith is a huge reason I got into country music at all." About "Somebody Like You" specifically he adds, "Just how big that song is and how much energy that song has, still plays a huge role in the music I create today."
