Songs I Grew Up On with Griffen Palmer

Griffen Palmer was born with country music in his blood. From his young years, he gained an early appreciation and love for music from his father. Now, he is an in-demand singer-songwriter on the rise. Palmer just finished up his tour with labelmate Lily Rose last weekend and plans to release his debut album Unlearn this Friday, April 28th. He shared with us the three songs he grew up loving and learning by heart.

1. “Heartbreak Warfare” by John Mayer

Palmer shares, “Sonically, it feels a lot like all the things I love in music.” Listeners can tell his music takes much inspiration from John Mayer and other similar artists.

2. “Your Song” by Elton John

“I remember it was one of the first songs I ever heard that made me really feel something and showed me the emotion that could go into a song,” says Palmer. The famous Elton John is another artist that inspires the upcoming star.

3. “Take it Easy” by Eagles

The nostalgia of the Eagles brings Palmer back to his childhood. “I remember playing that song with my dad’s band, jamming in a garage, and that was kind of the first time I ever played with a band, and I’ve always just kept that memory,” Palmer exclaims.
