Songs I Grew Up On with Jackson Dean
Country singer Jackson Dean sits down with The Nash News to let us know about the songs that have influenced him the most. Dean shows incredible songwriting skills and raw talent as a performer. The young artist grew up in a small town in Maryland, and his rural roots are evident in his music. With standout tracks like "Fearless," and his first song to hit the charts, "Don’t Come Lookin.’" Dean's style combines traditional country instrumentation with a modern edge. The singer's love for storytelling and honest lyrics shines through in each song, making him an artist to watch.
1. “When The Levee Breaks” Led Zeppelin
Dean notes that he has a heart for intense drums and rock and roll. This was an obvious
choice for Dean. He says about the tune, “Everybody knows that song is one of the
dopest songs of all time.”
2. “Where Rainbows Never Die” Steeldrivers
Dean feels a strong connection to this track, even wanting it to be played when he dies.
This record contains one of Dean’s favorite fiddle solos and has a special place in his
heart. He shares, “That's one of the first records that I wore out, I don’t know I listen
to it all the time.”
3. “The Devil’s Waitin’” Black Rebel Motorcycle Club
The Maryland native draws inspiration from this song even today. He uses this song as a
reference when writing and developing his own music, and finds a strong sense of
connection to the song.
