Songs I Grew Up On with Leah Marie Mason
Leah Marie Mason hails from North Carolina and has shown she is a singer-songwriter with immense promise. Her 2021 debut single "Far Boy" garnered streams and views that any new artist would hope for. Mason's debut EP Honeydew & Hennessy comes out Friday April 14th, and it aims to showcase her music to the masses. She shared the three songs she grew up loving, so maybe there are familiar favorites.
1. "Landslide" by Fleetwood Mac
With her parents being huge fans of this iconic band, Mason heard Rumors, and "my jaw was on the floor," she shares. She credits this particular song for inspiring her to become a songwriter.
2. "Crazy On You" by Heart
Mason carries plenty of memories with this track. "It was one of the first songs I sang on stage," says Mason. The vocally challenging song fostered the young singer's love for music.
3. "Rocketman" by Elton John
"My dad was obsessed with Elton John," exclaims Mason. She hilariously admits that anyone who "has half a decent taste in music would like Elton John." Mason has no problem saying that this is one of the greatest songs of all time.
