Songs I Grew Up On with Restless Road
Restless Road is a prolific young country trio. You may know them from hits like “Growing Old With You” and “Sundown Somewhere”. The talented trifecta got their start on the third season of The X Factor, placing fourth. Their latest single, “I Don’t Wanna Be That Guy” was released on March 10th, 2023. The group shares their favorite country songs growing up, and how they influenced their careers today.
1. “Forever and Ever Amen” by Randy Travis
Zach Beeken says, “He’s my all-time favorite, and that was the first song I ever sang in front of an audience.” It is clear to see how this familiar favorite has inspired Beeken to be the musician he is today.
2. “Real Good Man” by Tim McGraw
Garrett Nichols recalls being a little kid: “Wearing a cowboy hat and dancing around my room." These moments are what inspired Nichols to perform in front of people.
3. “Ellsworth” by Rascal Flatts
Colton Pack loves the story of the song, saying, “It really made me fall in love with the storytelling side of country music.” This love for storytelling comes through clearly in the work of Restless Road.
