Thomas Rhett “Things Dads Do” Song Review
Just in time for Father’s Day, Thomas Rhett surprised fans with a new song that he wrote alongside his hitmaker dad, Rhett Akins called “Things Dads Do”.
Thomas Rhett and Rhett Akins wrote the heartfelt track with Matt Dragstrem and Chase McGill. As a father of three little girls with one on the way, Rhett has a way of connecting his real life experiences to incredible songs that he then shares with his fans. On the heels of his most recent release, Country Again Side A, the award winner continues to engage his fanbase by being true to him self and releasing incredible music.
“Things Dads Do” has an adorable way of highlighting each of the habits that so many fathers do that embarrass their kids, only to soon realize that one day they will turn into their dads.
“This is probably my favorite song I’ve gotten to write with my dad,” said Thomas Rhett.” I’ve learned so many life lessons from him, and it’s pretty wild to see so much of him in myself now that I’m a dad. It felt like we should go ahead to release it for all of y’all who have been asking since we wrote it and to celebrate all the dads out there!”
Rhett first revealed that he would be dropping this song this past weekend when he joined his dad for a special performance at the Grand Ole Opry. So turn it up loud and if you are lucky enough to have your father in your life, send him the link, we know you’ll both love it.
