You're Invited To: Morgan Johnston & Friends
The Nash News is looking forward to hosting a Morgan Johnston & Friends Writer's Round on Thursday, August 18 from 7-10 p.m. at Assembly Food Hall in downtown Nashville. Artists playing include Morgan Johnston, SixForty1, Johnny Clawson, Brandy Neelly, Ashley Dalton, and Joybeth Taylor.

Morgan Johnston
Massachusetts native Morgan Johnston has been releasing original songs since 2018. In 2021, she added to her catalog by putting out tracks "Just in Case" and "Pity Party." Last year, Johnston was nominated by the Boston Music Awards for Country Artist of the Year. She also got to perform alongside Dustin Lynch at The Music Circus in her hometown. SixForty1
The Nashville-based pop-country duo, SixForty1 (Brooks Hoffman and Austin Gee) are bringing people together in a big way. The duo originally formed when the two met at Murray State, in Kentucky. Since making the move to Nashville in 2018, the two have managed to create quite a buzz. They have unique and inimitable songwriting chemistry and a knack for catchy and clever musical phrasing. Through a series of independent releases over the last three years, SixForty1 has already made waves in the streaming world and has toured with artists like Brantley Gilbert, Eli Young Band, Michael Ray, Walker Hayes, Niko Moon, and Muscadine Bloodline, while also making appearances at Brantley Gilbert’s first and second annual Kick It In The Ship cruise.
Johnny Clawson
Johnny Clawson is a country artist and songwriter based in Nashville, TN. Originally from Virginia, Johnny moved to Nashville in 2018. Johnny has written songs with Music City’s best upcoming artists as well as A-List artists and writers. His debut single “Lifetime” was released on July 20, 2021. Brandy Neelly
Louisville, KY native, Brandy Neelly will draw you in with her unwavering authenticity and bold lyrical style. Neelly calls her second home the stage and has opened for several well-known artists including, Love and Theft, Mark Willis, and The Kentucky Headhunters. In 2015, Neelly was one of the lucky Top 15 contestants on the hit television show American Idol, where she received impressive reviews from judges Keith Urban, JLo, and Steven Tyler. Neelly currently finds herself writing songs that are true to herself and beyond anything else; songs that connect with her fans. 2022 will hold several major releases for Neelly as she gears up for the release of her debut album I Know Where You Live which emphasizes the capabilities of strong-willed, powerful women in today’s society. Get ready to hop in and hold on tight; Neelly has some stories to tell.
Ashley Dalton
Singer-songwriter Ashley Dalton's sound is truly one of her own—a mix of her many influences including traditional country, gospel, and R&B. She's performed all over Nashville in venues like The Listening Room, Live Oak, and The Dogwood. Her song "Lucky I'm Lonely (Stripped)" is out now.
Joybeth Taylor
Singer-songwriter Joybeth Taylor hails from the state of Alabama and has been writing songs since she was a child. Once making the move to Nashville, she put out her first EP as a solo artist in 2019 titled I See Memories. In 2021, she signed with Verse 2 Music, the Sony Music Publishing joint venture helmed by Kane Brown and publishing veteran Kent Earls. She has co-written songs for artists like Elvie Shane, Dylan Marlowe, Grace Leer, Grant Gilbert, HunterGirl, Alex Maxwell, and many more.
