You're Invited To: The Nash News' 11th On the Verge Writer's Round

The Nash News is excited to host our 11th writer's round with independent and up-and-coming country artists this coming Thursday, December 22nd from 6-9 p.m. in downtown Nashville at Assembly Food Hall in the Fifth and Broad complex.


Artists performing include Andrea Vasquez, Tana Matz, Savraya, Tae Lewis, Bryan Ruby, Bailey Taylor, Kaylin Roberson, Autumn Marie Buysse, and Rob Wolf.

Get to know the artists and their music below:


Andrea Vasquez

Powerhouse vocals and unstoppable attitude combine in the petite package that is Andrea Vasquez. She blends her love of modern country and her Latin-American roots to create a refreshing sound within the country genre. After receiving successful feature placements with her music and with several emerging Latin country artists getting their chance in the spotlight, Andrea is well on her way to becoming a success story that future generations of aspiring country artists who share her heritage will strive to emulate.


Tana Matz

When she was 15, Tana Matz had already learned how to play both guitar and piano and by 17, she got the courage to sing in front of her family. Now Nashville-based, Matz released her debut EP Just Fly in 2013 and it was supported by various radio stations. Her sophomore project In Time peaked at #11 on the iTunes Country Chart. She's had the opportunity to open for artists like Kellie Pickler, Kip Moore, Cole Swindell, Brett Eldredge, John Rich, Dustin Lynch, Cannan Smith, Russell Dickerson, and Joe Nichols.


Savraya

Living in places like Nashville, TN, Ft. Worth, TX, and on the Mississippi Gulf Coast right near New Orleans, LA gave singer-songwriter Savraya a unique dose of Southern American music with roots, blues, jazz, country, hip hop, pop, and even Cajun music. At 16 she got her first guitar and had written her first song within a month. She started playing open mics very quickly. Her dad’s job transferred back to Nashville so she started playing writer’s rounds around town, and also started recording with Michael Mccadam and some great Nashville musicians. She has now found herself not claiming any genre, and opening her mind to all the modern, and past influences that have inspired her.


Tae Lewis

The emerging country singer/songwriter Tae Lewis doesn’t sell short when it comes to his creation of country music. The North Carolina native started his roots by singing in his grandfather’s church at the age of 5. In 2016 he began to emerge in his own element of what he wanted to create for his audience as a country artist With one of his first singles “Good Luvin."Good Luvin brought success by being placed in the hit sitcom “Shameless” which brought his artistry to a whole new level of people acknowledging who he really is. Now, a Nashville native, he’s been able to write with some amazing songwriters as well as being able to be an opener for some incredible artists.


Bryan Ruby

Bryan Ruby is a rising country music artist and trailblazing professional baseball player based in Nashville, Tennessee. As a songwriter, Bryan has penned songs that have appeared on the Texas Country Top 50 chart and the iTunes Country Top 25 (#16), and songs he has written have been featured on both Huffington Post and People Magazine. As an artist, he won season 7 of the talent-search competition Nashville Rising Song and celebrated the long-awaited release of his debut single “Left Field” on June 8, 2022. Bryan’s sophomore single, “Two For The Road,” dropped on August 12, 2022, and his single, “The Standouts” released on October 7, 2022. Bryan’s first holiday-themed single, “Christmas With You,” was released on November 18, 2022. The music video supporting “Christmas With You” was released on December 12, 2022. In September of 2021, he became the only active professional baseball player to come out as gay, and his story was featured in USA Today, as well as 100+ media outlets around the world including CBS, Yahoo, Bleacher Report, and Teen Vogue.


Bailey Taylor

The Pittsburgh native, affectionately known to all as BayTay, has called Nashville home for just three short years but in that time has grown an impressive network of co-writers and contemporaries that lead to the June 2022 release of her latest single, "...Love and Hate." "This song is about loving a place but hating it at the same time,” says the singer, “especially when it means you have to miss home.” Bailey's latest release follows the successes of her first singles "Breakup Boundaries," "Back Of My Memory," and "They Said." Garnering more than 1.5M views and 89.6K likes from her growing TikTok audience, the singer-songwriter lists Kelsea Ballerini, Maren Morris, and Lauren Alaina as her inspirations.


Kaylin Roberson

Kaylin Roberson is a Nashville-based singer-songwriter whose been releasing original music since 2018; her most release was a track titled, "Placeholder." She also helped write Leah Marie Mason's TikTok viral track "Far Boy." Most recently, Roberson competed in the famous singing competition show, American Idol.


Autumn Marie Buysse

Autumn Marie Buysse is a Nashville-based pure writer with over seventy cuts spanning country and pop. A month ago, she signed with Bigger Picture Entertainment via Sony/ATV. In the past year, she’s had six songs go TikTok viral, won the Bluebird Golden Pick Competition, won the ASCAP Jay Gorney Award, had a song on NBC’s American Song Contest, been selected for the ASCAP GPS Class of 2021, and had a song land on “Love Island UK.”


Rob Wolf

Rob Wolf is a rising Nashville artist originally from Livingston, Montana, home of the majestic Paradise Valley. Rob was first bitten by the music bug in school productions and really dug in deep when he found and fell in love with the guitar. Although he always thought he would be a pilot or pursue baseball, Rob’s love of music drove him to pursue a career in Nashville. Wolf is busy writing and in the recording studio with hopes to deliver a debut album in 2023. His debut single, “Home” was released August 19, 2022, followed up by “Everything to Me” on October 14, 2022. Rob ended the year with one final single release, “For the Best,” on December 16, 2022.
