You're Invited to The Nash News' Eighth Girl's Night Out Writer's Round
The Nash News is excited to put on our eighth Girl's Night Out Writer's Round at Assembly Food Hall at the Fifth + Broadway complex in downtown Nashville on Thursday, May 11th from 6-9 p.m.
The round will feature performances from JoJo Scott, Rebecca Moreland, Annabelle Maher, Nora Tirrell, Taylon Hope, Allison Asarch, Harper Mundy, Madi Hendry, and Hailey Dawn. Get to know the artists below!
JoJo Scott
JoJo Scott’s simple yet catchy melodies matched with her adoration for the sounds of the 70s blend together creating a vibey yet intimate sound in her acoustic pop music. Scott’s bright personality and eye-catching style add to the charm of her honest songwriting. Her latest single ‘Honey Girl’ is about heartbreak and longing with a touch of magic.
Rebecca Moreland
Rebecca is a dynamic songwriter and performer from San Antonio, Texas. “I write songs to connect and heal hearts,” Rebecca says. “If people leave a show feeling exhilarated or finish hearing a song and feel seen and understood, I’ve done my job well. That’s what it’s all about.” Rebecca’s played venues, colleges, and festivals all over the country. She most recently charted top 20 on Spotify national charts in Luxembourg in the fall of 2022. She’s reached the top 10 on Spotify singer-songwriter charts, was chosen as one of Neutrogena’s Top 100 Wow women by a panel of celebrity judges, has been featured on rollingstone.com, appeared on Fox News, ABC news, NBC news, and is about to hit the road on radio tour this spring with her new single, “Could Really Use a Friend,” produced and recorded by Garth Brooks’ guitar player, Johnny Garcia. When she’s not touring, Rebecca lives in Nashville TN, and loves spending time outdoors.
Annabelle Maher
Nashville recording artist Annabelle is a country music singer/songwriter from Fargo, North Dakota. Her first singles are out now. Her Songs, "Polly," "Elizabeth Jones," and "Timbuktu" earned a spot on Spotify's editorial lists, Next From Nashville, New Music Friday Country, and Fresh Finds Country, and have been streamed over 230,000 times. Annabelle has written with songwriters such as Bridgette Tatum ( "She's Country" Jason Aldean) and several other chart-topping songwriters. Traveling from Fargo to Nashville, Annabelle has performed at several charity events, opened for Sara Evans and David Lee Murphy, and has even performed for the President. She was also featured on the Today Show segment, Tomorrow's Talent Today with Hoda and Jenna.
Nora Tirrell
"My lyrics make my songs. My songs are my stories and they are my poetry. Throughout my life, I’ve written songs when I’ve been inspired to, whether by people in my life, difficulties I go through, or just events that spark inspiration in me."
Taylon Hope
Taylon Hope is a singer, songwriter, and musician from West Jefferson, NC, located in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, and now makes her home in Music City, Nashville, TN. Named one of 20 to Watch in 2020 by Women of Country and hailed as “Very promising” by MusicRow music critic Robert K Oermann. She began singing at the young age of four years old and music has been her passion ever since. She loves singing and performing and making a difference to others through her music. Her musical influences include Dolly Parton, Vince Gill, Carrie Underwood, Martina McBride, among others. Taylon has a love for both traditional and modern Country Music and has a great appreciation for all kinds of music. Taylon Hope values her roots and believes in being who you are and country is who she is! She has had the opportunity to open shows for Shenandoah, T. Graham Brown, Suzy Bogguss, Adam Crabb, and recently in Kansas she opened up for Ned LeDoux, son of Chris LeDoux. She has performed at the legendary Bluebird Cafe, The Listening Room, Schermerhorn Symphony Center, The Texas Troubadour Theatre, The Nashville Palace, John A's, and Puckett's, all in Nashville, TN.
Allison Asarch
Growing up in Houston, Texas, Allison Asarch discovered her love for music at a young age. In September 2020, she released her first single called "Taylor Made," and that same month, she appeared on the Netflix Original show “Sing On!” where she took first place and won over $42,000. Her debut album entitled Texas to Tennessee was released on February 11, 2022, and is now available on all streaming platforms. She is currently nominated for “Rising Star” at the Josie Music Awards, which took place last October at the Grand Ole Opry.
Harper Mundy
Harper Mundy combines honest and playful lyrics with a conversational tone to create a unique blend of pop and country music. She combines the lyrical styles of Lennon Stella with the energy and production feel of Ben Rector: a genre that her and her team have coined as "indiepopcountry."
Madi Hendry
Madi Hendry is a rising 20-year-old pop/ country artist born and raised in Nashville, TN. With inspirations such as Kacey Musgraves, Taylor Swift, and Kelsea Ballerini, a large part of her artistry was shaped by these women in country. She’s currently a sophomore Songwriting major at Belmont University and has been working on some exciting new music projects that she’s excited to start sharing soon! Hailey Dawn
Hailey Dawn is a singer/songwriter originally from Thompson’s Station, TN. She now resides in East Nashville and describes her music as a blend of Southern rock and pop melodies. Her song “Waterfalls” from her debut EP was featured on 102.9 the buzz.
