You're Invited To: The Nash News' Eighth On The Verge Writer's Round
The Nash News is excited to present our eighth writer's round with independent and up-and-coming country artists this coming Thursday, December 1st from 6-9 p.m. in downtown Nashville at Assembly Food Hall in the Fifth and Broad complex.
Artists performing include Garrett Biggs, Hanna x Madge, Reid Morris, Shantaia, Taylor-Rae, Michael Warren, Luke and Kaylee, Brennan Burns, and Margaret Haynie.

Garrett Biggs
Garrett Biggs is a ‘what you see, what you get’ kind of artist. His roots run deep into both Classic Rock and Country music, which definitely shows through in his music. His music is captivating. Biggs' songs are raw, powerful and truly show his heart and where he comes from with every rhyme and lyric. So far in his career, Garrett has already shared the stage with: Tanya Tucker, Bill Anderson, Craig Morgan, Priscilla Block, Chase Mathews, Drew Baldridge, and Josh Thompson. Biggs found first success with his song "Momma Didn't Raise No" which has surpassed 1,200,000 streams on Spotify/Apple Music and over 3 million music video views on YouTube. 2022 finds Garrett creating new music as his priority releasing new singles "Cheers to The Beers" featuring Cody Bradly and Tick Tok Star Cooper Alan and "Never Have I Ever” which is his current release.
Hanna x Madge
Hanna x Madge are an indie pop sister duo who have played shows across the United States, as well as venues in England, Ireland, Scotland, and more. The pair’s signature sound combines catchy melodies and imaginative pop production with rich storytelling lyrics. Additionally, Hanna x Madge host the Instagram livestream series TeaTime & Tunes where they perform their original music in an intimate, spontaneous format and interview special guests such as Grammy-nominated folk artist Mary Gauthier and #1 New York Times bestselling author Marissa Meyer.
Reid Morris
Reid Morris is a country artist and songwriter from Carrollton, Georgia. Growing up in the rural south, he was inspired by gospel, southern rock, and classic country.
Shantaia
Shantaia is a Country singer & songwriter. Growing up, Shantaia always had a love for country music, entering competitions across the country and performing onstage every chance she had. Currently living in Nashville, Shantaia is writing with some of the biggest writers in music city, playing milestone shows including The Listening Room Cafe and Whiskey Jam, and working on bringing her new music to the next level.
Taylor-Rae
Commanding vocals are just the beginning of what Taylor-Rae brings to the stage. The Alberta-raised, Nashville-based country songstress has claimed her space in Canadian country music, with a huge year behind her, and an even bigger one on the horizon. After taking second place in the 2022 Boots and Hearts Emerging Artist Showcase and her breakout single “Are You Still Up” garnering nearly two million streams across platforms, Taylor-Rae is ready to share more of her story with new music set to be released in early 2023.
Michael Warren
Michael Warren grew inspired by events and experiences in his life, particularly from his 15 years as a police officer. These experiences directly translated into songs. Songs of happiness, loss, tragedy, and blessings. All put down into music, which has been one of the most positive healing tools he has had in his toolbox behind his faith in God.”
Luke and Kaylee
Luke and Kaylee came to Music City in 2016 to chase their musical dreams. The talented duo first crossed paths as students at Nashville's Belmont University and found themselves performing together and writing songs. Fueled by their love for country music and passion for performing, they are celebrating several years as a powerful duo.
Brennan Burns
Brennan Burns is a singer, songwriter, and guitarist currently living in Nashville, TN. He has been releasing original music since 2018 and in 2022, put out various releases like "Someone I Knew," "Heatin' Up," and "Shootin Myself in the Foot."
Margaret Haynie
Brought up in the small town of Belton, South Carolina, Margaret Haynie’s roots run deep in the red dirt of the Southeast, where she was raised to love Jesus, family, and ice-cold beer. In June of 2021, the Clemson University graduate released her debut single, "Girl Before the Girlfriend," and dove headfirst into the music business as an artist and songwriter, playing weekly shows and writer's rounds around Nashville and out of state on the weekends. She has now released three singles and a music video, and in just over a year her music has reached over 450,000 streams.
